The Fuse Factory: Help us meet our funding goal! To donate, please visit: https://www.power2give.org/campaigns/204 / Frequency Fridays is the Fuse Factory's annual performance series featuring sound artists and sound poets, experimental electronic musicians, instrument makers, and avant-garde composers. For the past five years, we have brought emerging and established musicians and artists from around the US and Europe to expose central Ohio audiences to sound's many creative dimensions in the form of pioneering works. For documentation of Frequency Fridays performances from 2010-2015, please visit our website: thefusefactory.org. / Our goal is to raise $5000 to match a project grant awarded to us by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (thanks, guys!). As an extra bonus, every dollar we raise via Power2give will be matched with $.50 by the GCAC Fall Match fund, courtesy of the City of Columbus. / Because of your generosity, Frequency Fridays will continue to grow, thrive, and shape Central Ohio's cultural landscape - thank you!

For context, we’ll examine some historical sonification techniques and talk about what goals one might be pursuing when employing sonification. No previous experience in electronics, computer programming, or playing an instrument is required. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own headphones and laptop.Note: To preregister for the workshop, please visit http://thefusefactory.org/events/squid_sings_workshop/

Wake Up Sangha - Everything we need is already here
Dear friends,Join us for our January Sangha meeting. There will be sitting meditation, walking meditation, a reading, and sharing from the heart."We all have the tendency to struggle in our bodies and in our minds. We believe that happiness is possible only in the future. The realization that we have already arrived, that we don't have to travel any further, that we are already here, can give us peace and joy. The conditions for our happiness are already sufficient. We only need to allow ourselves to be in the present moment, and we will be able to touch them. What are we looking for to be happy? Everything is already here. We do not need to put an object in front of us to run after, believing that until we get it, we cannot be happy. That object is always in the future, and we can never catch up to it. We are already in the Pure Land, the Kingdom of God. We are already a Buddha. We only need to wake up and realize we are already here."
